Day of Visitors

Well, a morning of coffee and biscuits here for an 'old' colleague from our work, and an interesting chat (I hope) about all sorts of things, and a wide-ish range of topics - fortunately not work related!!

Then this PM was kindly picked up by another ex-colleague (well, friend really) and a walk in Regents College (where he works since he was made redundant when I was). Well, the superb gardens actually in West Malvern and saw Baden-Powell's hut where he escaped to - certainly peaceful and quiet there.
And, of course, the inevitable cup of tea - but no cake today! Thanks very much - really appreciated!

Cheers - It was good to get out for a while and see somewhere other than the local shops!

Thanks both - I won't name names but most ex-colleagues will guess who they are!

For those who didn't know, Jane and I (or is that me) went over to Oxford for a few days away as a bit of a break.
We are now back here and trying to catch up with all the things to do.
Sorry about the lack of posts again, but I will try and continue.
Apart from tiredness, which was predicted, things seem reasonably OK so far

Treatments Nine and Ten

Not very good by me when I say I'll add to this each day - but needless to say yesterday - the ninth - and today - the tenth and final treatment both went OK - my theory of NHS time 30 mins behind everyone else is still about right - but at least the long delays that can happen didn't materialise for me too much!

It only remains to say a HUGE thank you to the readers of this and especially the friends I imposed on for their reliable lifts - many thanks indeed. AND just as importantly all the other people who offered their services and were on stand-by in case the scheduled driver had to pull out. It saved a lot of worry and hassle for me and Jane and we are both very grateful.

It also remains to say thanks to those following this blog - I feel I may take a few days off from writing this and have a break from the computer!  I will have an appointment with the Consultant Oncologist at Cheltenham in about 3 weeks time, so there maybe something to say following that visit.

We will, of course, update this with any news but hopefully any immediate side effects are not so bad as chemotherapy - that's what I've been told, anyway! - only the fatigue, which is affecting me.

Tretment Eight

Well, today's kind friend turned up and the extra time I've allowed to get there wasn't needed either today, but it gave us time to get a drink! We were met by being told all the computers were down (booking in ones) so that was a blow. (But pen and paper was a trusty solution). It was "only an upgrade" - how I recall such things will be easy....

Still all went fairly well to time (NHS rime that is - about 20 mins behind real time(?))  but all seemed OK again.
At least the important bit of equipment were working.
Another nice sunny day for being out and about - even if it is the same bit of Motorway each day.
It will be good to get this all over. At least 2 to go seems a lot better than a few days ago!

Treatment seven

Well, not very good at this blog lark - at least Jane kept it up to date when I wasn't here last year!
Anyway not much to say about yesterday - my lift got me there in plenty of time and a half-hour wait - not too bad I suppose - and all seemed to be going OK.
A lot of hassle for a series of short appointments.
At least it is a nice sunny day - and now waiting for today's kind person to take me!

That's all I think, for now
Colin
