Wednesday was a much better day - because the sun decided to shine, we decided to visit Slimbridge Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. Apart from the overflow car park, nearly all of the paths were easy walking (most of them are metalled, except for the tracks leading out to the more distant hides). Colin even managed to walk out to the kingfisher hide - no sign of any kingfishers whilst we were there, but a good number of many common or garden birds on the feeders. It was just nice to be out and strolling in the sunshine with some lovely views over the Severn and the different 'lakes'.
Today's usual shopping trip was given a boost because we met up with one of Jane's old Malvern Singers' friends for coffee and a chat. That made a lovely change and it was good to have a catch-up.
