The transfer happened yesterday afternoon, and by early evening when I visited, Colin was extremely sleepy. The staff nurse in charge of him commented on the fact that it had been particularly difficult to wake him - yes, and I'm a little concerned about what is really causing this. The medics have reduced his daily dose of Dexamethasone considerably since it was first administered four weeks ago and I've been wondering since last night whether this is a factor in Colin's drowsiness.
Anyway, Colin is receiving the same medical care at Malvern as in Worcester hospital so, other than the fact there is no acute medical service on site, he is no worse off. And, probably he's better off as he has been given a single room with en suite facilities with a view out onto the gardens. All we need to do now is to encourage him to open his eyes and look at the view!
