It's just that four years ago on Valentine's Day we found out that something was very wrong as that was when Colin collapsed at home in the evening having had two weeks of being muddled and not remembering things well!
And here we are, four years down the road, although it's been a pretty bumpy, uncomfortable road which is not getting or going to get any smoother. So that was it really......things are much the same.
Colin's total lack of sight causes most of his anxiety and I just wish I could do something to get it sorted. But as we've no idea what's causing it, we're at a loss. Following an out of the blue invite from WRH Ophthalmology for a cataract assessment(!) I managed to speak with the Optometrist that visited him in October. Cataracts are not the cause - they are very slight - but Colin does have the wet version of Macular Degeneration. The GP has been no help at all - so I've no idea whether there is anything that could be done to help Colin on the MD front.
And finally, our dear friend of 6 bypasses fame and other unmentionables is thankfully on the mend. It was lovely to see him and his wife the other day at Perrins and we are very grateful that they have made the effort to visit Colin given the awful time they've been through in the latter few months. We wish said friend well for a full and speedy recovery!
Jane.
