Tuesday saw another appointment with the psychologist at Worcester hospital and more use of the P&R. The rest of the afternoon was taken up researching new doors and windows, and then partaking of free coffee and cake at a local garden centre! We have been doing much researching such things of late as we need to get things sorted before the really cold weather sets in - our activity hastened by the fact that the rain when blowing from the north, comes through our back doors - rather irritatingly!
There has been some time for enjoyment too! Last week, on Tuesday, we had a really good day out with a couple of friends - he of 6-bypass fame and other unmentionables, and wife. It was a good day weatherwise too so we had a walk around Croome (NT) again. This time however, Colin started listing before reaching mid-way, although it is not clear why this should have been. Wednesday we visited WWT Slimbridge with the octogenarian and again had a good walk around. This time, Colin managed without listing but maybe we made more use of the available benches. We couldn't say we saw any special species although there were a good number of twitchers around in some of the hides (probably claiming that they had seen something!!).
Today we attended the Brain Tumour Support group at St. Richard's Hospice in Worcester. This was a really interesting session as the Clinical Nurse Specialist from the QE (Birmingham) came to talk about her job and the current research trials that are taking place on brain tumour treatments etc. These seem to be mainly on gliomas, which is probably due to the fact they are one of the more common aggressive types. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any trials on Primary CNS Lymphoma, which would be more difficult due to the low number of patients being available.
So....we await the 27th with a little trepidation!
Colin and Jane.
