In the meantime, as it was promising to be a dry day with sunny spells, we took ourselves off to Hampton Court (no, not that one) on Monday. This, as some of you may know, is in Herefordshire and consists of a castle, formal gardens and walks by the rivers. It also has quite a nice 'restaurant' where we had coffee, lunch and tea! And the gardens have seriously grown since we last visited some considerable years ago.
Yesterday, was another 'out for lunch' day, as I went out to the Swan in Hanley Swan with an 'old' friend from work - also retired like me with time on his hands. It was a very pleasant way to spend a lunchtime.
