When I visited this evening, Colin was not quite as low as yesterday but is disappointed that it is unlikely that he will leave hospital for another few days at least.
Jane.
That is his drip! Last night they replaced the sodium bicarbonate drip for a saline one - the Methotrexate was well washed out of his body but he has renal problems. Today the Renal doctor has visited and has instructed that Colin is monitored for the next 72 hours and may arrange for an ultrasound scan of his kidneys. He was allowed to dispense with the drip after the last dose was administered and replace is with 3 jugs of water per day. Unfortunately Colin's limbs and face are swollen - skinny Colin has become quite plump. If the situation becomes worse or doesn't resolve itself then Colin will have dialysis. Colin still has a rash over most of his body and has been given an emollient lotion for this.
