The second appointment occurred very late at Worcester Royal Hospital on the 9th, and fortunately the senior audiologist rolled the appointment scheduled for the next day(!) into it. This was to fit another hearing aid - this time to the LHS ear. She also serviced the other one whilst she was 'at it'. It is unclear if the second aid is helping - Colin doesn't really know! Oh well - it was worth a try!
The better thing about the 9th was that we went down to Gloucester Quays for the Glos Brain Tumour Support group Christmas meal at lunchtime. This we had at Zizzi's (not turkey thankfully!) and very pleasant it was too. The meal was good but it was a little too noisy in the restaurant - but one can't have everything. Not all the usual support group attendees were able to make it, however those that did certainly enjoyed themselves!
Colin's thyroid function test which he had on the 2nd Dec proved to be OK and his GP is happy with the dose of Thyroxine which is being taken. Colin has also had another appointment with the WRH Psychologist. This was on Friday and we were amongst the last customers of the WRVS cafe which was closing that day in favour of the one to be opened in the new Oncology centre. We don't think this will be as quiet as the original given what we could see through the windows of the new building! But.....we will favour that cafe to the other in the main building. We continue to use the Hospital Park & Ride - we hope more people will try it as it would be a disaster if they stop running it due to low demand. It's a lot cheaper than parking at the hospital - that's if you can find a parking space! - and a lot less hassle! The new buses run on time and the drivers are very pleasant and helpful.
And finally, we eventually had a friend around on Thursday for a cuppa. It was really good to have a catch-up as it seems like ages since the last time!
Colin and Jane.
